Occupy Wall Street to the G8

Economic Crisis, Anger in the Streets, and Reduction in Police Staffing Levels all equal significant concern.

Proactive measures to protect your family, business or other concerns will rely heavily on situational awareness, flexibility, and preplanned to prevent or reduce harm.

Early closure, work from home and other tactics will be necessary. Additionally, if your proximity to known event locations(within 1 mile of the loop, and gold coast, then personal defense tactics should be considered and in place.

Unfortunately, due to existing conditions on the streets, all of the above should be in place now.

Stockholm Bomb Blasts (suicide bomber implicated)

Bomb plot becomes historic jigsaw puzzle

Federal officials think obscure addressees of abortive bomb plot part of message from al-Qaida....

November 04, 2010|By Ron Grossman and Christi Parsons, Tribune reporters

While Chicago synagogues may not have been the principal target of last week's foiled package bomb plot, U.S. officials now think that terrorists used addresses of Jewish organizations in an attempt to magnify the emotional aftereffects of the attack.

The terrorists, believed to be a branch of al-Qaida in Yemen, also were challenging investigators to piece together a historical puzzle — the names on the packages belonged to two men, one of whom lived in the 12th century, the other in the 16th century.

Politicians Controlling Infrastructure? Not in America....

May 19, FOX News – (Arizona; California) L.A. mayor dismisses warning that Arizona could cut off power over boycott. Los Angeles’ mayor Wednesday defiantly rejected a warning by a top Arizona utilities official that the state could cut off power to Los Angeles should the city proceed with its boycott of all things Arizona: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/05/19/arizona-official-threatens-cutlos- angeles-power-payback-boycott/

Just want to remind you that governments have done this in Europe, and that the politicizing of infrastructure resources will increase in United States, as we we face the challenges of economic and political pressure. America is not Russia, but politics is ugly. Don't forget what Russia did to the Ukraine(GAZPROM stopped pumping gas to Ukraine just last year):

Naperville cuts Ambulance Service

Naperville curtails ambulance service due to budget woes
May 12, 2010 1:43 PM | No Comments

Earlier this week Naperville took one of its seven ambulances out of service to save money.

Fire Chief Mark Puknaitis said as many as two ambulances could be shut down each month as the fire department uses up the money allotted for overtime. The first ambulance was removed from service Monday in a move that Puknaitis said will be evaluated continually to make sure there are no negative repercussions.

"I wouldn't do anything to put the citizens or the community in jeopardy," he said. If all ambulances were called all at once, a very rare occurrence, he said, fire trucks carry the same equipment and could respond and do everything but transport someone to the hospital.

Eastern Illinois University says someone outside the school may have broken into files containing personal information from about 9,000 current and former students and applicants.

The university on Friday said it found a number of viruses on a server used by the university’s admissions office that could have provided outside access. Technology workers believe someone had such access between Nov. 11 and Nov. 16. But they aren’t sure if any of the files were accessed.

The server contained undergraduate electronic admissions applications submitted between March 10, 2000, and Nov. 16, 2009.

University officials say they’ve mailed letters to students and applicants whose information is on the server.
